Buying industrial products from B.C.
Start with a product specification, quantity, end use, destination country and required date. Identify whether you need a manufacturer, distributor or service provider. A local distributor may sell products made in other countries.
Located in B.C., manufactured in Canada and confirmed exporter are different facts. Our directory and reviewed location matches do not establish product origin or export capability. Ask for written confirmation for the exact product and destination.
- Confirm the legal seller, manufacturing origin and authorized distribution status where relevant.
- Ask whether the supplier accepts your destination, order size and payment arrangement.
- Request a written quote identifying currency, delivery scope, exclusions and the agreed delivery terms.
- Discuss documents, packaging, freight, insurance and who handles customs with the supplier and your qualified logistics advisers.
- Confirm destination-specific product approvals and technical suitability before placing an order.
Introducing a product into the B.C. market
A foreign manufacturer looking for a distributor needs a different brief from a buyer looking for a part. Explain the product range, target industries, supported specifications, country of manufacture and proposed commercial model.
Prepare documentation, warranty and service arrangements, minimum order quantities and a clear description of the type of Canadian counterparty you seek. A potential directory candidate is not an appointed distributor, committed buyer or authorized partner.
Use Contact to discuss a market-research requirement. Any research scope and fee must be agreed first. Supplier introductions or outreach require separate permission and confirmation.
Where our shortlist research can help
The pilot can identify up to five source-supported candidates for a defined requirement, or produce a gap report if the evidence is insufficient. It records what the public sources support and the questions still to ask.
Research does not confirm export readiness, customs treatment, certifications, inventory or quote acceptance. Those questions need the relevant supplier, technical professional or licensed adviser.
